Two new productions: Maya and the Whale and Ideas Jukebox by theatre maker Hazel Darwin-Clements are set to tour North Scotland starting Sunday 31 August.
Hazel Darwin-Clements is collaborating with artists Fay Guiffo, Mamoru Iriguchi, Andy Cannon, Nik Paget-Tomlinson, Lewis Hetherington to further develop and tour this double bill of new work for young folk.
The shows are being presented by Splore, the North Scotland’s Children’s Theatre and Dance Network, a new consortium of venues and organisations who have come together with the shared ambition of building relationships with families and young audiences in rural areas of North Scotland. Led by the folk at Lyth Arts Centre in Caithness and supported by Creative Scotland Touring Fund, they aim to programme high quality theatre and dance for young audiences.
The tour opens at Lyth Arts Centre on 31 August before touring this autumn to Universal Hall in Findhorn, The Barn in Banchory, Mareel in Shetland, St Magnus Centre in Orkney and Timespan in Helmsdale. In the spring, the shows will be presented in Inverness, Ullapool, Stornoway, North Uist and Skye.
